1. Introduction
Val's Anytime Mobile Notary ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile notary service operated by Valerie Palmeno, serving Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties, California. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit www.valsanytimemobilenotary.com (the "Website"), contact us, or book our services, and how we use, share, and protect it.
By using the Website or our services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us: When you call, email, text, or submit our online contact form (hosted on Google Forms), we may collect:
Your name, phone number, email address, and mailing or appointment address
Appointment details, such as preferred date and time, location (home, office, hospital, care facility, jail, or prison), and the type of document or service needed
Information about the people who will sign, including inmate or patient details needed to arrange a facility visit
Any other details you choose to include in your message
Information collected during a notarization: California law requires notaries to verify identity and keep an official journal. During an appointment we may record your name, address, signature, the type and number of your government-issued ID, the document type, and, for certain documents (such as real property deeds and powers of attorney), your thumbprint. Documents submitted for apostille may also contain personal information.
Payment information: We record the amount paid and payment method. If you pay by card or a payment app, the payment is processed by that provider; we do not store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically: When you visit the Website, our hosting provider (Google Sites) and our advertising and analytics partners may automatically collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, the website or ad that referred you, approximate location, and the date and time of your visit. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies, described in Section 4.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Respond to inquiries and schedule, confirm, and travel to appointments
Perform notarizations, signature witnessing, affidavits, and apostille services
Meet our legal duties as a California notary public, including keeping the official notary journal
Calculate fees and mileage, accept payment, and keep business and tax records
Measure how well our Google Ads and Website perform and show relevant ads to people who visited the Website
Protect against fraud, identity theft, and misuse of our services
Comply with laws, court orders, and requests from the California Secretary of State or other authorities
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to our notary services.
4. Cookies, Google Ads, and Analytics
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The Website and our advertising partners use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand how visitors use it, and measure and improve our advertising.
Google Ads and remarketing: We advertise using Google Ads. Google may use cookies to show our ads to you on Google Search and on other websites, including after you have visited our Website ("remarketing"). Google may also record whether you clicked one of our ads and then called us or submitted the contact form ("conversion tracking"). These tools give us aggregated reports; they do not tell us who you are.
Google Analytics: We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the Website. Google Analytics collects information such as pages viewed and time on site, and reports it to us in aggregated form.
How Google uses this data: Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and read Google's Privacy Policy.
Your choices: You can:
Turn off personalized ads from Google at adssettings.google.com
Opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org
Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
Block or delete cookies in your browser settings (some site features may not work properly)
Do Not Track: Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common standard for these signals, the Website does not currently respond to them. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by law.
5. How We Share Your Information
We share personal information only as needed to provide our services or as required by law:
Who Why
Google LLC - Website hosting (Google Sites), contact form (Google Forms), email (Gmail), Google Ads, and Google Analytics
Payment providers - Processing your payment, under their own privacy policies
Hospitals, care facilities, jails, and prisons - Arranging access for an appointment at your request
California Secretary of State and other government offices - Processing apostilles, and inspecting the notary journal when legally required
Courts, law enforcement, and regulators - Responding to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal requests
Parties you direct - Responding to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal requests
Parties you direct
For example, a title company, lender, or attorney you ask us to send completed documents to
We may also disclose information to protect our rights, our safety, or the safety of others. We do not sell or rent your personal information. The only advertising data shared is what Google collects through the tools described in Section 4, which you can opt out of.
6. Data Retention and Security
Retention: We keep contact and appointment information only as long as needed to provide our services, keep business and tax records, and resolve disputes. The official notary journal is kept for the period required by California law and handled as the law directs. Advertising and analytics data is kept by Google under its own retention settings.
Security: We keep the notary journal in a secure, locked location and limit access to it. Electronic records are protected with password-protected accounts. We do not keep copies of your documents after an appointment unless you ask us to or the law requires it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, including under California law, you may have the right to:
Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use it
Get a copy of your personal information
Ask us to correct inaccurate information
Ask us to delete your information
Opt out of the use of your information for targeted advertising (see Section 4)
Not be treated differently for exercising these rights
Limits: We may be unable to delete or change entries in the official notary journal, because California law requires us to keep them. We will tell you if this applies to your request.
How to make a request: Email Valsanytimemobilenotary@gmail.com or call (831) 320-2970. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time required by law. You may also use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
California "Shine the Light": California residents may ask whether we shared personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing in the past year. We do not share personal information for that purpose.
8. Children's Privacy
The Website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them online. If a minor needs a notarization, a parent or legal guardian should contact us. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Third-Party Links
The Website may link to sites we do not control, such as Google Forms or government apostille pages. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date below shows when it was last changed. Continued use of the Website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
